    Must have experience developing and overseeing accounting processes under a SOC-1/SOX environment.


    Responsibilities:
    Ensure all investment accounting functions are performed in compliance with regulatory and GAAP reporting requirements.
    Identify opportunities to streamline and improve investment accounting processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals responsible for investment accounting activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
    Establish and maintain internal controls related to investment accounting processes to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

    Undertake special projects or initiatives as assigned by senior management, which may involve analyzing potential investments, implementing new accounting standards, or participating in strategic planning efforts.

    Manage new, complex investments and transactions to ensure they are properly recorded within accounting systems.

    Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, treasury, trade support, compliance and legal to ensure alignment of investment accounting activities with overall organizational objectives.

    Analyze investment performance metrics and trends, providing insights to senior management regarding the performance of the investment portfolio.


    Qualifications and Experience:


    Bachelor's degree in AccountingProfessional accounting qualification (CPA) preferred.5+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting or in industry with an investment accounting role.

    Experience working in SOC-1, SOX or NAIC regulated environments.
    Advanced knowledge of all investment types, especially structured securities.

    Considered to be a SME that can dive into and quickly resolve any issues/anomalies relating to income, amortization/accretion, book value changes, and cash flows.

    Perform review of several processes and controls to ensure accuracy of financial information and adherence to controls.

    Good communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team ability to mentor and teach staff/senior accountants across all aspects of investment accounting functions (income, controls, analysis/review procedures).Experience working with multiple clients and stakeholders.
