    We are looking for a Photonic Modeling Engineer who will play a key role in supporting our photonic design solutions. You will be responsible for developing photonic compact models and pushing the envelope of our circuit simulation capabilities. The candidate must have solid, hands-on experience in photonic IC design, modeling, and simulation.

    Qualifications:

    · Master's or PhD degree in electrical engineering, physics, or similar fields

    · 3+ years of experience in integrated photonics (e.g., silicon photonics)

    · Experience designing integrated photonic devices and/or circuits, through full design cycles from simulation and layout to tape-out and to experimental characterization

    · Familiarity with modern electronic-photonic design automation (EPDA) tools and workflows (familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso platform is a plus)

    · Expertise in photonic compact modeling for passive and active devices (e.g., waveguides, couplers, phase shifters, modulators, photodetectors, lasers, etc.), using photonic-specific modeling formats/tools (e.g., Lumerical INTERCONNECT / CML Compiler), Verilog-A, or other methods

    · Experience in photonic circuit simulation, and ideally electronic-photonic co-simulation, using Lumerical INTERCONNECT, Cadence Spectre, or similar tools

    · Experience in physics-based photonic device simulation, including optical (e.g., using FDTD to extract S-parameters), electrical and thermal

    · Programming skills in Python or other languages

    · Experience in photonic PDK development is a plus

    · Experience working with multiple foundries is a plus

    The annual salary range for British Columbia is 87,500 CAD to 162,500 CAD. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
