- Mail Management: Open and sort all incoming mail received at the company billing address and prepare it for team distribution.
- Claim Verification: Verify clean claims from providers, input charges based on client contracts or state-mandated fee schedules into the billing system to create HCFA 1500 forms.
- Bill Review and Pricing: Review and re-price provider bills according to contracts, then submit them to the Director of Finance for approval and payment.
- Billing Support: Assist Billing Specialist II with printing and submitting hard copy therapy bills to insurance payors weekly.
- Reporting: Generate reports from the billing system to verify receipt of provider bills and follow up with providers for any missing bills.
- Payment Posting: Post all batched payments in our software system.
- Inquiry Response: Support Billing Specialist II in responding to inquiries from provider partners and clients, resolving issues as needed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of workers compensation billing experience.
- Ability to type 30-35 words per minute accurately with minimal errors.
- Competence in processing alpha/numeric information.
- Capability to work with limited supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Preferred:
- 1 year of workers compensation billing and collections experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Dynamic and engaging personality.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management.
- Frequent walking and occasional standing.
- Continuous sitting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
