- Transitions: Coordinating movements and ensuring seamless transitions for participants with court-approved alternative sentencing options is a key aspect of your role. You'll be the bridge between the court system and our program.
- Conducting Orientations: Conduct engaging orientation sessions for participants, setting them up for success by familiarizing them with our program and its resources.
- Tailored Support: Utilize evidence-based assessments to develop personalized transition plans for participants, addressing their unique needs and challenges to include individual case planning.
- Career Development: Help participants secure and maintain employment by providing them with valuable support and guidance throughout their job search journey.
- Community Connections: Network with community partners, courts, and employers to establish crucial contacts for case planning, ensuring participants have access to the resources they need for a successful transition.
- Program Monitoring: Track and evaluate participants' progress and compliance with program requirements, collaborating closely with the CTC team and other stakeholders to ensure accountability and success.
- Legal Support: Prepare court documents such as affidavits and status updates, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the judicial system.
- Resolution Expert: Address participant inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively, ranging from payment issues to grievances.
- Educational Initiatives: Occasionally lead group education sessions for participants, offering valuable insights and support as they work towards rehabilitation.
- Bachelor's degree required in any field;
- Certification in workforce development preferred;
- Experience performing case management and writing transition plans preferred;
- Knowledge of Interactive Journaling preferred;
- Knowledge of rehabilitation and treatment programs preferred;
- Knowledge and familiarity of community resources preferred;
- Skill in the operation of a computer to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access software;
- Skill in effective group facilitation;
- Skill in communicating with diverse populations;
- Ability to communicate effectively with reluctant persons;
- Ability to navigate multiple database systems;
- Ability to work independently and have well developed interpersonal skills;
- Ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance;
- Ability to compile data and information for reports;
- Ability to compose letters and memoranda;
- Ability to interpret policy and procedure manuals; and
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data.
- Must appear before an oral board and successfully complete a polygraph and background check;
- Must be willing to work shift work;
- This position has been designated safety sensitive and therefore the incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment;
- Work may require entering a secured facility;
- Position frequently requires a combination of sitting and standing to accomplish tasks and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.;
- Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks;
- The incumbent performs complex, sensitive and varied work under general direction. The position will be required to exercise discretion and independent judgment to accomplish work.

The Alternative Sentencing programs give participants the opportunity to repay the community while continuing to work and maintain pro-social ties. Additionally, the programs help the taxpayers of Ada County by reducing jail population and costs.
To accomplish this, the Ada County Sheriff's Office operates several different Alternative Sentencing programs such as:
