    Job Profile Summary


    Under general supervision, the purpose of this job is to supervise the performance of ground maintenance functions in a safe, productive and time efficient manner.

    Employees in this job classification are responsible for overseeing, managing and reviewing the work of individuals and maintenance crews that perform general grounds maintenance work at the various college campuses.

    Performs related work as directed.

    This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans' Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295.

    Certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in the employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.

    Minimum Education:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Trade or vocational school may be required for some positions

    Minimum Experience/Training:

    • Three or more years of experience in recognized trade at the journey level or 4 years of apprenticeship in relevant trade(s), or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    Minimum certification/Licenses:

    • Valid Driver's license will be required for positions operating college motor vehicle
    • Desirable certifications/ licenses include Tree trimmer I certification, Fork lift certification, Man lift certification, CDL Class D,EPA Freon certificate, certification from an accredited technical school
