Role purpose
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the primary function of this role is to provide leadership to shift internal transport teams and goods in and shipping staff; and to provide internal transport solutions to all Despatch, Assembly and Machining Functions.
Responsible for one site or small country.Key responsibilities
Operations Management
Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
Transport
Manage on a day-to-day basis the transportation of goods and supplies using existing procedures; review and recommend improvements to procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
Incoming Goods
Manage a medium-size and medium-complexity warehouse and stores using existing procedures and develop new procedures when required to ensure all goods and supplies are stored and recorded appropriately.
Health, Safety and Environment
Follow the organization's Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
Work Scheduling and Allocation
Develop short- or medium-term work schedules in order to achieve planned commitments. Approve overtime or use additional resources as needed.

Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
