    RWJ Rutgers Medical School is seeking an Interventional Neurologist to support the Department of Neurosurgery in its clinical and academic mission.

    Minimum Education and Experience


    Candidate Requirements:

    • Board-certified in Neurosurgery
    • Preference is given to fellowship trained.
    • NJ licensed or eligible for licensure

    SUMMARY:
    The Faculty member will support the RWJBH & Rutgers Health Neurosurgical service-line. This position will support the Department of Neurosurgery in its clinical and academic mission.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide clinical leadership direction for the training, education, and research activities of the Department of Neurosurgery with continued efforts of developing a strong national reputation.
    • Participate in Stroke and Endovascular call.
    • Educate and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.
    • Develop and maintain an endovascular neurological practice.
    • Must be sensitive, compassionate and communicate effortlessly to a diverse group of patients and their families.
    • Must be up-to-date with new discoveries in endovascular techniques and collaborate with postdoctoral fellows in publishing of medical journals.
    • Must have excellent presentation skills, and must be able to present in department meetings, academic seminars, and conferences.
    • Must contribute to clinical, research, service, and education for the academic institution.
    • Be an active member of the medical community.
    • Have excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels in the hospital/organization.
    • Perform other duties as determined by the Chair in support of the Department of Neurosurgery.
    • Maintain an academic effort that is consistent with one's approved academic ranking (Assistant, Associate, Professor of Neurosurgery).
    • As with our entire faculty, spend at least four (4) hours per week involved with various academic or administrative interests.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Immunization Requirements


    Under Policy Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.

    Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose.
