    Job Summary:

    The Material Handler delivers parts to and from assembly stations, as well as to and from in-process storage.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assures compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal-Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation, and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer requirements are met.
    2. Responsibility and authority to shut down machine operation when quality, safety, or environmental issues arise. The operator will notify the supervisor, lead, or other appropriate manager.
    3. Has the responsibility and authority to ship the correct product to customers, and to stop shipments that are not the intended product for that customer.
    4. Maintains and protects all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    1. Receives and delivers materials essential for meeting production and customer quality requirements.
    2. Maintains a clean and orderly work area and ensures equipment cleanliness.
    3. Adheres to safe machine operation practices, including identifying and removing hazards, understanding PPE requirements, and promptly reporting equipment issues.
    4. Operates forklift equipment safely, including reach trucks, order pickers, and counterbalances, while adhering to safe trucking procedures to prevent injury and damage.
    5. Completes pick tickets accurately as per training instructions.
    6. Performs order picking tasks using RF units, ensuring accuracy in part number and quantity verification, labeling, stacking, and paperwork completion.
    7. Processes orders for Less than Truckload (LTL) shipments, including handling order comments, customer requirements, and freight terms, and ensuring proper packing, labeling, and staging.
    8. Handles export shipments, including preparing export documents, packaging, and loading outbound trailers.
    9. Processes orders for UPS/FedEx shipments, including using RF units, scales, personal computers, label and document printers, shipping software, and conveyors.
    10. Operates computer terminals efficiently, including basic functions like on/off switching, password keying, and navigating screens.
    11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Required Skills & Abilities:
    1. Safe lifting and moving of heavy objects using proper techniques.
    2. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
    3. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    4. Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
    5. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory tracking.
    Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience is required.
    • One year of relevant material handling and stand-up forklift experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
    • May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.
    • Must have the ability to operate a forklift.
