    Job Title

    We are seeking dedicated English Language Learning (ELL) teachers to join our team at the Vermont office of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI).

    About Us

    The USCRI is a non-governmental, not-for-profit international organization that protects the rights and addresses the needs of persons in migration by advancing fair and humane public policy, facilitating direct professional services, and promoting full participation of migrants in community life.

    English Language Learning Program

    The ELL department provides English language instruction to adult learners during their early years in the USA. Our program has openings for on-call ELL teachers in Colchester and Rutland locations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Teach twice-weekly one-hour group classes for adult English language learners year-round via Zoom
    • Teach in-person group classes at various community locations
    • Develop and implement lessons plans, assignments, course syllabuses, and outlines
    • Leverage communicative language teaching methodologies to foster a learner-centered environment
    • Communicate with students using technology
    • Assess and evaluate student progress throughout their participation

    Qualifications

    • Masters degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics preferred
    • Teaching experience, particularly with adult English language learners, preferred
    • On-line teaching experience strongly preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, including web-based communication
    • Ability to use technological tools including Zoom, Google Suite, Excel, Word

    Additional Requirements

    • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training
    • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine required
