    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Test Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

    The B-2 PDM Test Engineering Organization within Depot & Modification Center in Palmdale is seeking a Level 2 Test Engineering Manager responsible for all facets of the B-2 Flight and Test Engineering & ground operations, including staffing, planning, execution, and reporting in multiple technology areas. This position requires a highly motivated and self-starting individual with relevant ground test operations experience, who will be willing to work additional assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position, if required.

    Position may require section manager functional duties, responsible for up to 14 direct reports. Selected candidate will report functionally to the SIT&E Director and operationally to the B-2 Engineering and Systems Test IPT Manager.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Provide technical products and planning coordination for the B-2 PDM Test Engineering as the manager for the Systems Tests
    • Lead testing efforts associated with testing the B-2 during and after PDM Inspections
    • Specify test configurations and coordinate all test modifications
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, and US Government agencies (DCMA)
    • Verify all documentation for test activities, and test results performed
    • Fill in for all control test engineer functions, as needed, to support the program schedule
    • Report ATP Test status and provide detailed reports and requested metrics as required to Senior Management
    • Manage the daily test activities and personnel support, prioritize tasks and oversee the strategic long-term planning of test engineering & ground operations
    • Manage the daily tasks of the assigned personnel, including Test Engineers and Systems Test Engineers.
    • Manage the Test Engineering & ground operations including budgets, personnel, and resource scheduling.
    • Liaise with the PAICoE Systems Integration Test & Evaluation (SIT&E) Functional Homeroom and the Government Ground Representative (GGR) as required for the statement of work
    • Identify all risks, issues, and pressures and develop mitigation and closure plans

    The selected candidate must be willing to work non-standard shifts and overtime, as required, and have the flexibility to work additional test assignments within the Program Test IPT beyond the defined requirements of this position.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related experience such as test engineering and/or ground operations; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related experience such as test engineering and/or ground operations.
    • An Active DoD Secret clearance with full investigation within the last 6 years
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
    • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM)
    • Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years.
    Salary Range: $134,600 - $201,800
    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
