OnPoint Medical Group at Burrows Internal Medicine is searching for an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team Come join a great group of medical professionals as our network continues to grow OnPoint Medical Group is a physician-led network of skilled Primary and Urgent care providers who are committed to expanding access to quality healthcare in the most effective and affordable manner possible Our Circle of Care has one primary goal – to ensure the health and wellness of members and their families We do this by providing access to a comprehensive menu of medical services from one unified physician group in their neighborhoods With doctors nurses specialists labs and medical records all interlinked and coordinated patient care has never been in better hands The back office Medical Assistant assists the provider Physician Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in examination and treatment of patients by performing the following duties Completes intake by welcoming patients and prepares patients for healthcare visit by placing patient in exam room obtains medical history and verifies patients information Responsible for documenting a full accurate set of vital signs Populates all sections of electronic medical record timely accurately including but not limited to allergies medications vaccines social history quality tab Assists providers during examination treatment performing point-of-care tests appropriate skill level certifications state regulations Maintains supplies storage areas exam rooms Disinfects cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations Maintains safe secure healthy work environment establishing standards procedures complying legal regulations Conducts business service-oriented manner attentive cooperative sensitive respectful with all patients visitors colleagues Responsible pre-visit planning operating procedure guidelines Maintain logs required checks i.e refrigerator temperatures emergency medications expired medications oxygen etc Addressing voicemails multiple times working day Inbox messages buckets electronic record for providers provider staff self Back-up front office check-in check-out appointment scheduling answering phones Professional working relationship vendors support practice Follow HIPAA guidelines internal external systems Ability communicate appropriately awareness surroundings audience Attends trainings meetings required Success Factors Ability complete individual assigned tasks completing success clinic Works well people display empathy appropriately Actively listen respond appropriately Accurately maintains medical records patients provider Minimum Education Experience High School Diploma GED required Must graduate accredited healthcare program ie Medical Assistant CNA LPN EMT equivalent experience required Maintain certifications state guidelines Nationally recognized Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred Strong computer skills EMR experience preferred Some MA Experience Current BLS card Preferred EducationExperience years Family Pediatrics Athenahealth practice management system Job Elements Working Conditions While performing job employee regularly stand use hands handle feel reach hands arms talk hear Occasionally walk sit stoop kneel crouch crawl Frequently lift move pounds occasionally lift move pounds Specific vision abilities close distance ability adjust focus above statements describe general nature level work performed classification They exhaustive list responsibilities duties skills personnel classified All personnel perform outside normal responsibilities time needed
