What You'll Do

As a key member of the Security Advisory function with growing responsibilities, this role will perform IT and security control risk assessments, provide direction and security control recommendations to mitigate risk and reduce risk exposure for business-as-usual and project engagements.

The analyst will assist in the definition, coordination and implementation of security policies, procedures, and technologies.

In addition, the analyst will track remediation of any identified control gaps and deficiencies, analyze data for management reporting and ensure all cyber and data security requirements are in place.

Required Qualifications

3+ years direct information security experience.
Awareness of relevant legal and regulatory requirements as well as privacy laws.
Familiarity with technical infrastructure, key processes, and technology-oriented risk issues, related to security and privacy.
Knowledge of computer networking, operating systems, application development, cloud base solutions, and information security tools.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Kemper or outside the organization (executives, regulators, clients, etc.).
Ability to work independently and remote without direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technology/information security-related field.
Proficiency with programming or scripting a plus
Hands of detective security control experience a plus.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus.
