    Job Details:

    Title: Buyer II

    Location: Rockford, IL 61101

    Duration: 12+ months (potential for conversion)

    Pay Rate: $35/hr on w2.

    Shift schedule: 8 AM to 4 PM with flexibility for start and end time within an hour.

    Job Description:

    • You'll work as a member of a larger procurement team to perform all functions needed to ensure the operation has a reliable supply chain of material and services as needed from external suppliers while also supporting efforts to drive supplier performance improvements.

    What will you do?

    • In this role you will have full responsibility for a subset of our supply base in terms of implementing purchase orders, presenting forecast changes, and working to resolve delivery challenges. You will also collaborate with the larger global Sourcing team to help identify and drive cost savings ideas and look for opportunities to increase our relationship with our strategic supply base. The ability to problem-solve, negotiate, and analyze supplier performance data will be essential.
    • The Site Buyer also plays a key role in sharing key delivery updates to the Production Schedulers and site Operations leadership team as we work to deliver to our customers during a time of outstanding growth
    • Finally, we would look for your support in navigating source changes from one supplier to another as well as supporting the procurement activities associated with new product launches.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma with 7 year's experience as a Buyer or equivalent.
    • Associates Degree with 4 year's experience as a Buyer or equivalent.
    • Bachelor's Degree with 2 year's experience as a Buyer or equivalent.
    • Experience in MRP / ERP systems required.
    • Comfortable in MS Excel.
    • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in supplier change and new product development procurement activities.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPM, APICS, CPIM certification preferred.
    • JD Edwards (E-1) experience.
    • Global procurement experience.
    • Experienced in working with contract manufacturers.
    • Lean manufacturing preferred.
