    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the Planning Manager, the Supply Planner will be responsible scheduling of finished goods production per approved finished goods inventory policy. The Supply Planner will create and translate strategic production plans into finished product schedules and ensure that the goods are completed in accordance to timing set forth in the approved supply plan.

    The ideal candidate for this position will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. They will have strong attention to detail and will be able to manage multiple competing priorities. Ability to think ahead and proactively work to solve any shortages in supply will be key to success in this position.

    Position Responsibilities
    • Ensure the required raw materials inventory is available and that the production facility has the capacity to complete the schedule, prior to releasing the schedule to the production team.
    • Reviews factors that affect production schedule timing/completions including but not limited to, change overs, sanitation schedules and materials constraints.
    • Develop and monitor finished production schedules based on required inventory stocking levels.
    • Create daily production schedules for multiple production lines to ensure proper balance and utilization of capacity. Adjust schedules as needed to account for adjustments in demand.
    • Provide at a minimum, a rolling 2 week production schedule each week, by the end of the week.
    • Analyze current trends and one offs to develop what if scenarios to reduce impacts of abnormal demand/supply situations.
    • Responsible for presenting options for customers if no product is available to meet exact specifications.
    • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each step of the Company's S&OP Planning to ensure continual improvement.
    • Review current supply planning processes and identify opportunities to improve fulfillment of the demand and sales orders while achieving inventory objectives.
    • Maintains great communication and collaboration with cross functional team, including but not limited to QA, Production, Shipping, Customer Service, Sales and Demand Planning.
    • Manage stock transfers between facilities.
    • Research order and delivery discrepancies.
    • Review and develop a strategy to reduce all slow moving and obsolete inventories.
    • Manage inventories to ensure that product is not allowed to age.
    • Provide continual improvement of the production planning and reporting processes.
    • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.


    Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or related field is required. Four (4) years Planning experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Three (3) years of related experience in food manufacturing is required.
    • Two (2) years' experience in production/inventory control is required. Candidates substituting experience in lieu of degree require six (6) years of related experience. Experience should include: production reporting, physical inventory, reconciliation and database control.
    • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees and customers is required.
    • Solid computer skills with significant experience within Excel is required. Previous working experience and knowledge of SAP is preferred.
    • Ability to solve complex problems and present effective and efficient solutions in a clear and concise manner to management is required.
    • Strong attention to detail is required.


    The pay for this role in the state of California ranges from $63,000 to $82,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate's experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
