    Job Description: Our client is looking for an Instrumentation Set Point Calculation Engineer who will be responsible for reviewing and optimizing setpoints for instrumentation and control systems within nuclear power plants to mitigate accidents and ensure safe and reliable operation of nuclear reactors.

    • Responsibilities:
    • Analyze the instrumentation and control systems used in nuclear power plants, including sensors, detectors, controllers, and actuators.
    • Determine the optimal setpoints for various instruments and control loops within the nuclear reactor system
    • Analyzing reactor parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, neutron flux, and radiation levels to ensure safe and efficient operation
    • Responsible for optimizing setpoints for safety-related instrumentation and control systems, including emergency shutdown systems, reactor protection systems, and safety parameter display systems
    • Ensure that the reactor operates within specified power levels while maintaining stability and safety margins.
    • Determine appropriate setpoints for control systems to mitigate the effects of transients and ensure safe reactor operation.
    • Document setpoint calculations, control strategies, safety analyses, and compliance reports for record-keeping and regulatory purposes.
    • Requirements:
    • A BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with coursework in instrumentation, mechatronics and process controls design engineering is required
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Reviewing Set point Calculations
    • Experience with controls system design including applications for low and medium voltage distribution systems and controls for equipment including but not limited to turbines, pumps, feedwater control, and data displays.
    • Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls systems design for either BWR of PWR reactors, including DCS for turbine, control, feedwater control, and data display.
    • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design
    • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
