    Job DescriptionDry Plant Operator | Henderson, CO

    Overview:

    Ensures proper bagging and sealing of product as it is dispensed from fertilizer blender. Seals bags on conveyor with sewing machine or heat sealer and inspects to ensure satisfactory completion. Strategically loads bags of product onto pallets as they come off the conveyor to ensure safe and effective pallet distribution. Operates forklift to remove loaded pallets from conveyor area.

    Essential Duties:

    • Handle empty packages and bags as they are filling from the blend machine.
    • Guide filled packages on the conveyor to the sewing machine or heat sealer which seals the bags.
    • Stack the filled bags or packages onto pallets.
    • Substitute for forklift operations when necessary.
    • Safely operate a forklift to transport pallets of product.
    • Perform other assignments as directed by the dry plant foreman.

    Education:

    • High School or Equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
    • Attends company sponsored safety meetings and training sessions.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
    • Ability to operate forklift.
    • Ability to communicate with coworkers on the bagging line.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

    This position does require a pre-hire, post-offer criminal background check, and a drug screen.
