- Be responsible for developing and increasing profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customers and internal offices
- Build relationships with existing and new accounts / offices
- Use strong relationships to understand customer's business in order to provide solutions
- Maintain and increase ALC's image and reliability with customers
- Provide exceptional, prompt customer service internally and externally
- Prospect for new shippers
- Build and trace loads
- Update customers with critical information, etc.
- Answer phones and distribute calls to the appropriate party
- Confirm loads and carrier invoice match, checking for carrier billing errors
- Process Exceptions between ALC and carrier invoice differences
- Process carrier invoices
- Work with carriers to resolve carrier A/P issues
- Complete ALC system training as required
- 3 year minimum in LTL freight brokerage
- College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent and effective communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
- Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle conflict
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
