Writing Coordinator needed for hospital organization team, - Portland, OR
Job Description:
The Donor Engagement Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting the daily production of letters and other written communication to acknowledge the exceptional generosity of our donors. Specifically, the Coordinator will assist with the drafting and review of acknowledgement letters and the management of donor stewardship mailing projects, and will also provide general administrative and project support to the donor engagement team.
Responsibilities
60% Project Coordination
• Coordinate and execute the acknowledgment mailing process for mid-level donors, donor-advised funds and honor/memorial gifts, working in partnership with the Donor Communications Specialist
• Ongoing mailing projects, including welcome letters and the annual Doctors Day notifications
• Record donor stewardship actions in database
30% Writing and Editing
• Review and approve mid-level gift acknowledgements, working with colleagues to assess accurate gift designations and appropriate acknowledgements
• Review and edit daily personalized gift, pledge, estate and donor-advised fund acknowledgements
• Draft and coordinate mailing for monthly Deans' notes
• Assist with copyediting and proofreading letters, particularly during busy year-end giving season
• Assist Donor Communications Specialist with leadership communications from Presidents, as needed
10% Department Support
• Prepare and submit check requests for individual reimbursements and payment of invoices; ensuring compliance with expense and reimbursement policies
• Assist colleagues in completing various donor engagement projects, as needed

development officers, faculty, and other colleagues

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Required Experience:
• Experience drafting and editing professional communications
• Experience coordinating projects and/or mailings
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working in a non-profit or fundraising environment
• Experience in executive-level communications/support
• Experience with a CRM/donor database
Working Conditions:
• Hybrid schedule; 3 days/week of onsite work required
• Fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions of workflow
