Job SummarySeeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in pressure vessel and tank design within LNG, midstream, refining, or petrochemical industries.

This role involves performing equipment design calculations, preparing detailed engineering drawings and specifications, conducting technical bid evaluations, and mentoring junior engineers.

Job DescriptionPerform equipment design calculations.
Support the preparation of engineering drawings with sufficient detail to define the equipment scope and technical requirements.
Prepare specifications for inquiry and order of equipment on projects.
Perform technical bid evaluations.
Review vendor documents submitted for review or approval. Act as the communication focal point for appropriate information/data between the vendor, client, and other disciplines.

Develop criteria, guidelines, and best practices for the equipment to provide for a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and reliable end product.

Mentor less experienced engineers.

Skills RequiredAt least 5+ years of experience in pressure vessel and tank design specifically in the LNG, midstream, refining, and/or petrochemical industries.

Intermediate (practical application) to advanced (applied theory) knowledge and application of:ASME pressure vessel code and of API standards for storage tanksBest practices associated with ASME pressure vessels and storage tanksUse and limitations of medium and high strength carbon steels, low alloy steels, and stainless steels in the design and fabrication of pressure vesselsQuality assurance methods and practices for materials and fabrication of the equipment; Welding processes and practicesManufacturing processes and operations from raw material form to fabricated product.

Advanced proficiency using COMPRESS or PV Elite, and using API tank design software.
Proficiency using AutoCAD (preferred).Strong understanding of underlying engineering principles of best practices instead of rote memorizationStrong critical thinking skills.
Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.

Education/Training/CertificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.

Additional RequirementsRegular, reliable attendanceWork overtime and weekends as required.
May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
