Responsibilities*Job Summary / Purpose
Under the direction of the health care provider, the phlebotomist contributes to the delivery of patient care that promotes the well-being and safety of all patients and staff.Essential Key Job Responsibilities
+ Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory techniques, while maintaining the integrity of specimens.+ Performs patient point of care testing.+ Ensures required safety checklists and quality controls are completed and action taken if indicated.+ Cleans and sterilizes instruments.+ Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.+ Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately.+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required+ Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Assocation required upon hire+ At least 1 year of previous phlebotomist experience strongly preferred but not required
