    The College of Liberal Arts is seeking an Administrative Assistant to oversee the day-to-day operations of our academic departments.     In this role, you will provide administrative support to different academic departments as needed. The role requires a strong focus on technological skills, organization, communication, and great attention to detail. Tasks include but are not limited to the administrative management of day-to-day operations for the academic department assigned. In this role, you will serve as a key contact point for students and faculty, coordinating departmental activities, managing department calendars, scheduling meetings, submitting the course schedule, tracking student enrollment data, handling course approvals, as well overseeing the department budget and purchasing for the department. The position is crucial in providing administrative in-person support to our growing college. In this position, you will work closely with the CLA leadership team and our academic departments and programs to ensure the academic success of students across the UAF campus.

    The College of Liberal Arts is seeking a proactive professional with knowledge of and proficiency in the following programs Gmail (email and calendar), Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, DocuSign, and Zoom. The ideal candidate will be a customer service-oriented individual with superior organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills. Furthermore, the ideal candidate places a high value on teamwork, process efficiency, and delivering outstanding customer service. Including exceptional attention to detail, and ensuring accuracy in all administrative tasks. They are adept at problem-solving, swiftly addressing challenges as they arise, and are known for their ability to quickly learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School degree (or equivalent) and two years of office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Position Details:

    This position is located on the Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 76, based on education and experience.
