Job Description

Summary:

The Project Engineer will be working on supporting products in a fast-paced environment, with project tasks typically measured in days or weeks.

This individual will typically need to perform design, drafting, process, and manufacturing engineering tasks, as well as some project management over the duration of a project.

A majority of projects involve inter-departmental communication, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and technical documentation. The Project Engineer will develop new tools, modify existing ones, or document changes/improvements in their use.

The Project Engineer will typically be working on multiple projects at a time and will be expected to be available on-site to support production during the workweek.

Responsibilities:
Provides sustaining engineering support for legacy product lines
Works with manufacturing department when developing new tolling or new processes
Supports production department in resolving problems with existing manufacturing processes
Prepares engineering change request or release orders
Conducts product failure analysis and defines appropriate corrective action
Participates in material review board (MRB) activities by evaluating and dis-positioning non-conforming product
Provides guidance to junior engineers and Designers; reviews and approves work for drafters
Participate in new opportunity review and business case development on new product and quotations
Participates in costing activities, prepares technical proposals, and prepares engineering quotations
Prepares detailed tolerance analysis
Designs and develops electromechanical component and assemblies using 2D CAD and 3D solid modeling software
Conducts and/or oversee product development projects from inception to production
Provides Technical Support to the sales and Marketing department and customers
Conducts and/or oversee product development projects from inception through first run production
Participates in new product design as required; participates in internal/external design reviews
Performs limited project management duties associated with products on major programs

Requirements:
BSME or BSEE with good mechanical skills
Minimum 2 years directly related experience
Good analytical skills
Good oral and written communication skills.
Be able to use MS Word; MS Excel; AutoCad; SolidWorks.
Experience with electrical and mechanical testing.

Please note the salary range posted below is a general guideline for this job level and location.

When extending an offer, a variety of factors are considered such as responsibilities of the position, relevant education and experience, certifications, knowledge and skills.

Salary Range:
$89,100.00-$120,

Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
