    A locally owned and operated full-service Pathology Laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join their team

    Responsibilities:

    • Collecting and preparing specimens, such as tissue samples, blood samples, or bodily fluids, for analysis.
    • Ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and storage of specimens to maintain sample integrity and traceability.
    • Operating laboratory equipment and instruments to process specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
    • Entering data into laboratory information systems (LIS) or electronic medical records (EMR) for tracking and reporting purposes.
    • Maintaining comprehensive records of specimen processing, test results, and quality control measures for documentation and audit purposes.
    • Providing support to laboratory technologists, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals by performing delegated tasks and duties.

    Requirements:

    • Able to work 8am-5pm or 9am - 5:30pm
    • Good directional skills
    • Able to lift 25-30lbs
    • Hospital Lab experience is a bonus as well as someone willing to learn on the job

    This position is Contract to hire, but open to direct hire for the right candidate.
