    *Under general supervision, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and interventional procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site radiologist. Additional responsibilities include providing procedure-related patient care and education, maintaining records and documentation of procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients, operators, staff and visitors. Assist radiologist in performing interventional procedures such as biopsies, aspirations and drainage procedures.

    • Communicate with front desk staff any changes that may alter patient schedule flow.
    • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems; Maintain and clean all equipment and work area in accordance with required decontamination procedures.
    • Assist with daily operations of the ultrasound department.
    • Inventory supplies and assist with ordering in a timely manner.
    • Participate and maintain ACR accreditation requirements for the ultrasound department.
    • Comply with all company, department and location specific policies, procedures and mandatory learning requirements.
    • Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program required, CAAHEP accredited program strongly preferred.
    • Current ARDMS with certification in: AB, OB required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS required.
    • Minimum 2-year clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
    *Detailed knowledge of current ultrasound scanning procedures and protocols.

    • Microsoft Office Suite applications; Accessing and navigating company intranet for forms, policies and procedures; Accessing and entering data on organization-wide software; Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime).     Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to:

    repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), from floor to waist; Occasionally required to help lift and/or move patients.

    Physical ability to perform all aspects of diagnostic testing, including CPR on all patients. Read/write/speak and understand English. Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide diagnostic care. Most work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
