    Job Title: Paraprofessional (MLL)

    Organization: Athlos Academy of Utah

    Reports To: ESS Director

    Hiring Status: At-Will

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    FTE: , 25-29 hours / week

    Schedule: Option 1: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 3:45 pm
    Option 2: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm; Fri 8:00-2:00pm

    Reporting Days: 190, 10 months

    Compensation: Hourly

    Starting Pay: $13-$16 / hr., DOE;

    Minimum Qualifications Required:
    Education:
    High School

    Experience: Classroom experience preferred

    Certification: N/A

    Background: Clear FBI background check

    Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English, Spanish fluency preferred

    Job Duties

    Classroom Instruction

    • Assists the MLL Teacher in small group instruction for multi-lingual learners.
    • Organizes MLL lessons for small groups.
    • Record student reading data daily.
    • Assist students to reach academic success.
    • Creates a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best.
    • Utilizes academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments aligned to Athlos' 3 foundational pillars of a , , and .
    • Collect and report data on students' academic progress
    • Differentiates assistance based on individual needs, learning style, and abilities.

    Classroom and School Culture

    • Communicates a deep belief that all students can learn, and belong, in the classroom.

    • Creates a positive learning environment by developing classroom rules, systems, and procedures.
    • Holds high expectations for student behavior at all times.

    • Communicates professionally with parent/guardians and the community.
    • Communicates student progress with parent/guardians regularly.
    • Communicates regularly with school leadership and other faculty to maximize effective instructional activities.

    • Models the Athlos culture.
    • Implements school policies.
    • Tracks student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events.
    • Participates in regular school-wide and individual professional development including professional learning communities.
    • Pursues ambitious professional development goals and student learning targets.
    • Actively participates in critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and more.
    • Gives and receives positive and constructive feedback from colleagues.
    • Honors schedules and deadlines.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams.
    • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.
    • Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner.
