    Job Summary:
    The Plant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Plant. Oversees related processes within the maintenance, cheese making, packaging, prep, and administrative areas. Plant manager must have and use experience in people development, culture change, manufacturing practices, continuous improvement and operational finance.


    Responsibilities:
    Manage the daily operations of the Plant with a focus on employee and food safety

    Direct and schedule Supervisors and support staff – including interviewing, hiring, training, planning and schedule, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues

    Ensure daily production planning is in accordance with supply chain needs

    Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members

    Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules with a focus on reduction/avoidance of failure costs

    Ensure effective resource allocation and use of equipment

    Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

    Collect and analyze data to find places

    Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

    Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve plant and company objectives

    Collaborate and oversee other levels of the organization

    Promote and participate in Emmi Operational Excellence throughout the facility

    Monitor variations in production process and report to Quality and Director of Operations

    Coach, motivate and engage employees in all aspects of operations to support the Emmi culture

    Responsible for employee development, performance management and staffing with a focus on management by objectives (i

    KPIs, Plant Objectives, etc.)

    Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliancewith all safety policies, practices and procedures

    Conduct weekly staff meetings to communicate changes, updates or notifications to employees

    Review / monitor monthly operations budget and discuss budget overruns with Director of Operations

    Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

    Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices, concepts, and tools

    Assist Project Manager in timely completion of cap ex projects through production coordination, project meetings, etc.

    May also assist in thepreparation of annual operation budgets and capital expenditures for plant operations in order to achieve budgets

    Plant Manager Minimum Qualifications :

    4 year college degree or equivalent experience

    Proven work experience in the food or dairyindustry

    Proven managerial experience

    Proven leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills

    Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)

    Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

    Ability to create accountability and lead by example

    Ability to motivate staff to keep operations running smoothly and meet goals

    Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents, manuals and instructions

    Detail-oriented nature and ability to adapt to change

    Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to work in a fast paced environment

    Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

    Ability to work in cross-functional teams
