- Perform specimen preparatory procedures in Histology, which may include grossing and embedding
- Operation cytology processing equipment for preparation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens
- Maintenance of instrumentation and temperature logs
- Specimen accessioning as needed
- Data collection for reports and statistical compilation
- Checks supply inventory
- Actively supports and assists in implementation and monitoring of quality control and quality assurance policies
- Attends meeting and participates in professional development activities
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- AAS Degree in Medical Technology or related science
- NYS license
- 1+ years of experience as a laboratory technologist
- ASCP or NCA
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, standards and tests
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and its operation
- Ability to monitor Quality Control and to troubleshoot minor problems
- Knowledge of pathology laboratory terminology
- Knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to recognize hazardous conditions
- Ability to recognize and react calmly to emergency situations
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with laboratory staff and medical staff

The hourly range for New York residents is $23.22 to $45.43. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
