    Field Service Welder/Line Bore Technician Essential FunctionsCommunicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalPerforms repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervisionDiagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment; makes repairs using established guidelines in accordance with established flat ratesRemoves and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components, and tests and adjusts assembliesPlans methods and sequences of performing assigned repairsModels safe work habits and always abides by all safety policies and proceduresOrganizes, cleans, and maintains a safe work area and equipment; maintains equipment in good working conditionContributes to departmental and product line goalsCompletes required paperwork efficiently and timelyAttends training as specified by supervisorPromotes goodwill with customers and exhibits excellent customer relations behaviorsWelds components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)

    Repairs machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flawsPreforms line boring and machining work at customer's job sitesPerforms other job-related duties as assignedField Service Welder/Line Bore Technician Minimum QualificationsHigh School Education or equivalentTwo (2) years continuous machine shop experience is desired, including experience with line boring processes and welding, preferably in a repair or equipment maintenance-related environmentAbility to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematicsFurnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the companyField Service Welder/Line Bore Technician Physical Requirements:

    Pushes/Pulls/Lifts/Carries up to 100 pounds without assistancePhysical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overheadAbility to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workdayAbility to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional conditionThis is considered a Safety-Sensitive position.
