    • As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, including administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support to residents and their families. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
    • Provide care education to patients in person or over the phone.
    • Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA)
    • Triage illness and injuries at each shift, determine medical priority and treat within the scope of nursing practice.
    • Monitor and/or administer medications.
    • Conduct required health screenings.
    • During orientation and on an annual basis, staff members and youth will receive instruction on the exposure control plan, which includes standard precautions, bloodborne pathogens, and how communicable diseases are spread.
    • Document health care progress, problems, needs, and recommendations. Other Duties Include:
      Coordinate with safety teams quarterly mock emergency drills on a number of emergency situations with detailed debriefing and critiques. Provides staff training as required by state agency. Examples of training may include, but is not limited to first aid, universal precautions, use of epi-pens, and medication review for those staff cleared to monitor self-administration of medications. CPR training may also be provided if the nurse is a certified CPR trainer. Maintain "Controlled Drug Book", assuring that agency required forms are being used and signed by staff when medication is administered and when nurse or cleared representatives are conducting shift-to-shift medication counts. Participate in treatment team staffing as needed. Maintain health/first aid supplies, including, but not limited to the ordering epi-pens and bandaging units, ordering, and stocking other supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and monitoring/maintaining of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). Participate in training and development activities as required to maintain licensure (based on state board of nursing recommendations). Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:
    Education:

    • Requires Registered Nurse Diploma or degree. Must have and maintain current and appropriate RN licensure in the state where employed. Experience: Two years of school, correctional, doctor's office, camp, industrial, or public health experience preferred. Experience working pediatric/adolescent patient care preferred. Skills: Requires discretion and judgment in making decisions. Requires ability to devise new methods, modifications, or adapting standard principles or practices to new or changed conditions. Must have working knowledge of child/adolescent related illness. Must be CPR certified. Specialized Knowledge - Familiar with the psychological/physical needs of youth. Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds and provide necessary physical services to clients. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law. Must be able to transport clients. Other: Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
