- Work with Austin Energy to address its vegetation clearance needs
- Inspect utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations
- Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation
- Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property
- Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
- Other related duties as assigned
- Associate's degree in forestry or a related field OR 1 year of utility vegetation management experience or similar experience in a related industry (tree care, landscape professional)
- Knowledge of local tree species and growth rates
- Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Google Drive, ArcGIS maps and electronic work planning software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roads
