The client is actively recruiting a Chief Estimator for the Infrastructure Division. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, this role provides leadership and oversight of large projects and transit estimating teams. The Chief Estimator brings expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, tendering, proposal submissions, and construction methodology, while working closely with the Director to refine leadership skills and pursuit strategies.

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

  • Lead Estimating for Large Projects: Oversee all estimates and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Drive Bid Strategy & Risk Management: Approve strategies, constructability requirements, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Mentor and Develop Team: Provide leadership and coaching to build a high-performing estimating team
  • Ensure Financial Accountability: Manage bidding and pre-construction estimating in partnership with the Director
  • Build Strong Industry Relationships: Foster connections with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams

The Right Tools for the Job

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; professional certifications (Gold Seal, LEED, LEAN, MRICS, CIQS) are assets
  • Experience: 20 years combined field and estimating experience, including 5 years in a senior estimating role with large-scale projects ($100M )
  • Skills: Expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, tendering, bid strategy, and leadership; proficiency in design-build, IPD, and Construction Management methods
