    Description

    The Opportunity:

    We are looking for hydrographers to support our dredging operations on the East Coast and Gulf Coast of the United States. The Hydrographer performs full-scale hydrographic surveys in support of coastal restoration, shipping channel maintenance, and large capital improvement projects. The successful candidate will perform a variety of hydrographic surveying on our project sites. The position will involve collecting, processing, analyzing and interpreting a variety of hydrographic data including multibeam sonar, single beam survey tasks. The employee will use this data to prepare hydrographic, engineering, geological and geohazard maps. The candidate must be willing to travel and be able to adapt to challenging coastal environments.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

    · Act as hydrographer for dredging projects.

    · Vessel sizes range from 25 – 63'.

    · Collection and processing of multibeam and single beam hydrographic survey data.

    · Installation and calibration of survey systems.

    · Ensure conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.

    · Travel position. - days on site per year.

    Basic Qualifications:

    · 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent degree.

    · Highly proficient with multibeam and single beam sonar data collection.

    · HYPACK/HYSWEEP software experience required.

    · Experience with AutoCAD software is preferred.

    · Works independently with minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
