    Full-Time Occupational Therapist (Schools)

    Location: Opelousas, LA area

    We are actively seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our team for a full-time role within schools in the Opelousas, LA area. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in assisting students to develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Louisiana
    • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or related field
    • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
    • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in school settings preferred
    • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals
    • Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and experience in developing and implementing OT goals within an educational setting
    • Knowledge of relevant local and state regulations governing the practice of Occupational Therapy in schools

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct evaluations to assess students' motor and sensory skills, functional performance, and activities of daily living
    • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and student needs
    • Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions, to address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, handwriting, and activities of daily living
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate OT goals and strategies into the classroom and home environments
    • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outes
    • Participate in IEP meetings to review student progress, discuss goals, and make remendations for ongoing services
    • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy needs within the school setting
