- Acts as the principal technical analyst for Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) discipline within the Research and Development Flight.
- Manages and performs a broad range of science, engineering and/or mathematic assignments entailing unique problems, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technology.
- Applies principles and theories of mathematics, physics, and chemistry towards the development of tools and methods used to produce AGI.
- Mentor and guide efforts of more junior researchers within the flight
- Represents NASIC while visiting contractor facilities and other government installations to represent NASIC at national-level meetings and conferences.
- Develops data analysis techniques and methodology, new tools and algorithms required to address current limitations in the analysis of analytical problems.
- Serves as expert analyst responsible for developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of an interaction with all relevant NASIC, Air Force, and IC mission partners.
- Must be able to meet OPM qualification standards for the 1301 General Physical Science Series:
- A master's degree in physics, engineering, or mathematics or a closely related scientific field or its equivalent is highly desirable; a doctoral degree is highly desirable.
- Five years of experience in a wide range of skills related to collection, processing, and exploitation of spectral and radiometric data is desired.
- Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of physics, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of one or more of the specialized areas of physical sciences sufficient to apply new analytical developments, methodologies, and research findings to broad studies of an unprecedented nature.
- Skill in applying analytical and evaluation techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.
- Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology
- Advanced ability to evaluate highly complex scientific information in relation to scientific theory and observed results, and to apply sound scientific judgment in addressing unprecedented situations
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, or order to product highly technical reports, position papers, and briefings, resolve conflicts based on mature judgment and experience, effectively negotiate complex issues, and maintain good working relationships.

National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the national source for air, space, and cyberspace intelligence. This position is within the Geospatial Intelligence Research and Development Flight, GSIR, WPAFB OH.

U.S. Citizenship Required
All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
PCS expenses are NOT authorized IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations
