    We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Multilingual Community Advocate to join our team at YWCA Kalamazoo.

    **Job Summary:**

    The successful candidate will provide trauma-informed advocacy and supportive services to English and Spanish-speaking survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, working collaboratively with other community partners and agencies.

    **About the Role:**

    This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to social justice and a passion for serving diverse communities. As a Multilingual Community Advocate, you will be responsible for:

    1. Providing crisis intervention, supportive counseling, case management, advocacy, referral, support groups, and follow-up services to clients.
    2. Informing program participants about their choices and options regarding economic, legal, social, health, and other basic needs.
    3. Assisting with volunteer and field placement training and activities as part of supportive counseling and related activities.
    4. Maintaining accurate and confidential records of client interactions, collecting statistics, and submitting reports as required.
    5. Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that client needs are met, providing assistance as needed.
    6. Safeguarding confidential information gained as a result of the job.

    **Requirements and Qualifications:**

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • Minimum one year of experience in crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and/or case work.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (ability to act as an interpreter/translator).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Flexibility and creativity in meeting client needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
