    Minimum Qualifications
    Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • A Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field is preferred.


    Position Summary
    The Research Professional is responsible for genomics sequencing project management, oversight of lab technicians, data management and coordination, training and quality assurance of lab projects, supervision of general laboratory functions including but not limited to lab safety management, chemical/hazardous waste disposal and documentation, maintenance of chemical supplies, making stock solutions, supervision of chemical inventory and ordering.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
    • Strong laboratory technical skills in molecular biology
    • Experience with Illumina sequencing instrumentation, e.g. MiSeq/NextSeq, related protocols and library preparation
    • Experience with long read sequencing, e.g. Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio
    • Experience in data handling and bioinformatics skills
