    Overview


    Fairview Health Services is hiring an Advanced Vascular Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our Interventional Imaging team at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.

    This position is eligible for a sign on bonus starting at $7,500

    The Interventional Radiology Technologist III assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, and more. Using sophisticated fluoroscopic equipment, you'll be responsible for capturing images of the blood vessels post processing images. Responsible for being primary operator of angio equipment to include CT, Hybrid OR, Hybrid IR suite. Post processing includes but not limited to, 2D, 3D, and cross-sectional imaging.


    UMMC East Bank is the flagship location for University of Minnesota Health and is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics on both the East and West banks of the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.

    This location offers the widest range of hospital and clinical services provided through University of Minnesota Health.

    Complete services range from primary care, emergency care and the delivery of thousands of babies each year, to care of patients with the most sophisticated conditions.

    Areas of specialization include proven organ and blood and marrow transplantation, heart disease and cancer.

    Schedule:
    This position will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift. This position will also work a weekend rotation.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    As an Interventional Radiology Technologist III, you will:

    • Perform procedures with technical accuracy in a timely manner. Position patients, as required to achieve quality diagnostic images, according to departmental protocol.
    • Scrubbing in to assist provider with wire handling, device deployment, and ancillary equipment usage.
    • Operating CT scanner
    • Operating Hybrid angio suite with integrated CT scanner
    • Ensure proper patient identification on all images and complete all Procedural documentation according to departmental policies including proper image marking, Post procedural imaging processing of 2D, 3D, and cross sectional imaging, scheduling, tracking, and accurately entering procedural charges.
    • Know procedural appropriate supplies and related charges
    • Demonstrates proper sterile technique
    • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees and students.
    • Participates in the departmental quality assurance and quality improvement plan, following all appropriate protocols.
    • Provide appropriate patient care during imaging procedures.
    • Maintain rooms and properly operate and care for imaging equipment.
    • Communication with patients, families, staff, peers, and supervisor.
    • Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner following appropriate radiation safety policies, general safety protocols, infection control standards, and emergency preparedness protocols.

    Qualifications


    Required Qualifications:

    • Education
    • AA/AS in Radiologic Technology
    • Experience
    • 2-3 years in interventional radiology
    • License/Certification/Registration
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
    • Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiac and Vascular (CV)or Computed tomography (CT) registered (ARRT) equivalent certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Education
    • BA/BS Radiologic Technologist
    • Experience
    • 3-5 years Intervention Radiology experience
    • 1-2 years CT experience
    • License/Certification/Registration
    • Computed tomography (CT) registered (ARRT)
