    SUMMARY:

    The Outdoor Programs Coordinator is accountable for planning, executing, and supporting high quality, outcomes-based outdoor programming focused on girl and family engagement that meet the needs and interests of girl members from diverse ages and backgrounds.

    This will include direct facilitation of outdoor programming during all four seasons, both on GSK properties and in the community.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Works with Manager of Outdoor Programs to plan and facilitate outdoor programs, including weekends and evenings.
    Collaborates and manages program logistics with appropriate volunteers, staff, and outside organizations.
    Communicate program details and logistics clearly to volunteers, program partners, and staff.

    Coordinates the creation of resources needed for outdoor programs including volunteer support materials, program curriculum, Event Guide, program packets, and patch programs.

    Ensures that diversity, equity, and inclusion are embraced and incorporated into the programs offered to Girl Scouts, both through program partners and council-led events.

    Collaborates effectively with all departments to promote program delivery and support the goals of girl recruitment and retention.

    Utilize data on girl members to plan programming that meets the geographic and grade- level needs of all Girl Scouts.

    Ensures that physical resources and accommodations are deployed effectively to support successful achievements of outcomes and stay within designated budget.

    Utilizes council properties in program planning and implementation, when possible.
    Coordinates large scale GSUSA initiatives on a local level.
    Performs other duties as assigned. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Reports incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving girls to the appropriate authorities and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana


    WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
    Tuesday
    Saturday schedule. Non-traditional work hours expected.
    Travel within the council's jurisdiction on a regular basis.
    Work environment includes both office and outdoor environments.
    Must be confident being outdoors in all four seasons and in all types of weather


    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION:

    3 years outdoor programming experience EXPERIENCE:
    Current certifications or willingness to obtain certification in outdoor programs including high ropes, archery, paddling, etc.
    Two years of program implementation or commensurate experience.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Windows, Office, and Outlook.
    Demonstrated knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Girl Scout program, principles and standards.
    Ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers and facilitators


    SPECIFIC SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
    Ability to set personal goals, regularly prioritize tasks, and self-motivate.
    Ability to coordinate all aspects of outdoor programs including scheduling, event logistics, facilitation, execution, and evaluation.
    Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills- Demonstrated experience leading volunteer committees or groups
    Excellent oral/written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
    Proven decision making and problem-solving skills.

    Demonstrated experience interacting with volunteers/members/staff and potential volunteers/members and the public, providing prompt and courteous customer service to all in person, via phone, and in writing.
