- The Golf Starter is one of the most visible employees of the facility. This position is tasked with providing customers with service regarding starting times at a "no tee time" facility, coordinates groups making the turn on a nine-hole golf course, upholds golf rules and policies and pace-of-play. Due to the nature of the position, the golf starter must be pleasant, but firm at the same time.
- The position manages the daily outside golf operations team including greeting members and guests in a professional manner, managing and tracking play to ensure proper billing, protecting and maintaining assets, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience at the Club.
- Must be visible, easily approachable, and pro-active in nature

- Must have a valid Driver's License and show the ability to operate a golf car properly.
- Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot, cold, humid and rainy outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position

- Accept direction from the Head Golf Professional and complete requested tasks.
- Creates staff schedules for Outside Operations' employees and monitors payroll budget.
- Recruits employees, conducts interviews, and makes recommendations to Head Golf Professional to fill staff voids in Outside Operations.
- Assure the orderly flow of play in accordance with the our "no tee times" policy. Rotate players as needed to ensure the flow of play
- Provide welcoming "first contact" with each customer or groups of customers and ensure they have an enjoyable experience
- Operate the starter's podium and Hole #1 teeing area in the highest professional manner
- Assist in maintaining an accurate daily play sheet to ensure proper billing of cart fees, guest fees and other daily service fees.
- Stage carts in an orderly and efficient fashion to accommodate incoming golfers.
- Trains new staff to meet the service levels as described by the Club.
- Maintains golf car service records and records any golf car issues.
- Maintains golf car fleet including tire pressure, batteries, and general maintenance.
- Oversees golf charging area for safety and maintenance.
- Load golf bags onto golf carts as directed & push carts
- Provide support to Junior Golf Program when needed.
- Assist customers with finding a game when necessary
- Assist with Club Repair projects and makes recommendations to members upon request.
- Clean the clubs of all golfers as they complete play, as well as carrying clubs to golfers' cars.
- Accurately store members' clubs in the bag room and assist in updating the bag storage list.
- Perform all tasks needed to maintain a fleet of golf carts including washing carts, driving carts in a safe manner, and reporting any damage or mechanical problems to your supervisor.
- Maintain an adequate supply of scorecards, pencils, tees, ball markers, etc. at the first tee and in other locations on the course as needed.
- Perform all duties needed to maintain a driving range. These responsibilities include staging the practice areas in a neat and orderly fashion, collecting and washing range balls periodically, restocking the practice areas when necessary, and completing a checklist of closing tasks to ensure the practice area is ready for the next day.
- Cleaning all areas in the workplace in order to maintain a neat and professional presentation.
- Provides Safety training to all Outside Operations employees.
