    Production Scheduler

    We are seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team at J.B. Poindexter & Co.

    This is a Military / Veterans only opportunity. You must be willing to relocate within 35 miles of one of our locations if you are not within a commutable distance. We do offer a relocation package.

    The role is based on-site and requires in-person attendance. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    • You will be instrumental in collaborating with all levels of the company to plan, set, and support a Sales and Operations Production plan.
    • You will perform production scheduling to maximize on-time delivery, productivity, inventory turns, gross profit, etc., using level loading practices for production lines and lean methodology.
    • You will establish commitment (promise ship) dates for scheduled sales orders.
    • You will work directly with manufacturing to support customer on-time delivery.
    • You will communicate with respective departments on any schedule changes that will adversely affect overall schedule execution or customer expectation.
    • You will work directly with the Materials management team and fellow associates to ensure that raw materials and customer supplied items are available to support the production schedule.

    Requirements

    • A BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred).
    • A strong understanding of production scheduling in a make-to-order environment with 5+ years scheduling experience.
    • Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems. Experience with AS/400 a plus.
    • The ability to adapt in a very fluid and cyclical environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
    • Moderate user of Microsoft Office tools, with an emphasis on Excel.
    • Moderate travel up to 25% may be required.
    • APICS CPIM certification a plus.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
