- Support development and continuous update of internal databases to analyze grid interconnection capability in different transmission provider's grid footprint.
- Support preparation of generator interconnection applications for submission to various Transmission Provider's generator interconnection queues.
- Analyze potential sites based on the available power flow models, queue activity and availability of the physical transmission.
- Support internal production cost modeling efforts by utilizing industry standard tools to determine marginal pricing and congestion trends in changing macro and grid conditions.
- Support internal stakeholders' efforts to originate and maintain generator interconnection applications.
- Track generator interconnection deadlines for the submitted and new interconnection positions.
- Automate internal processes to analyze project performance in varying market and grid scenarios.
- Review external transmission analysis studies and reports to support project development efforts in different grid footprints.
- Analyze external production cost analysis reports to support project fundamental analysis in varying macro-economic and grid conditions.
- Work in conjunction with external consultants to support project development efforts in different jurisdictions.
- Perform technical analysis as required to support projects in the operational portfolio.
- Keep abreast of the changing regulatory process in markets of interest and present company's position in varying regulatory forums.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., science, engineering etc..) with an emphasis on power systems and/or power markets.
- Master's degree in a related technical discipline is a plus.
- Knowledge of power flow and production cost modeling is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years in the electricity industry with the Bachelor's degree.
- Transmission planning experience with a utility, technical consultant or an ISO is plus.
- Advance degree could substitute the work experience requirement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing and able to travel (up to 20%)
- Understanding of the basic electrical power engineering terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding or willingness to learn new coding languages e.g., Python, R, SAS etc.
- Prior experience or willingness to learn industry standard transmission analytics tools e.g., PowerWorld Simulator, PSS/E, TARA, etc.
- Prior experience or willingness to learn industry standard production cost modeling tools e.g., PROMOD, PROBE, UPLAN, DAYZER etc.

Description
The position is responsible for supporting all aspects of solar/wind/storage project development at various stages of the generation interconnection process. The position will perform fundamental transmission analytics to support project and/or portfolio acquisition opportunities. The successful applicant will utilize industry standard technical tools to support portfolio development by submitting new interconnection requests and managing the existing positions post submission. The position will also support building proprietary analytical datasets that will inform company's view of market pricing and congestion trends in different electricity market footprints in the country.Key Responsibilities
