    The Mechanical Inspector

    The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting received parts, materials, in-house products, etc. per engineering blueprints, specifications, and other documentation with the aid of gauges, meters, and other tools as necessary. The Inspector verifies conformity of the part, material, or product per the specification and follows company protocols for damage, impurities, or any other nonconformance spotted. They will also assist in the calibration of inspection and test equipment and any other day-to-day QA activities as deemed by the department Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    • Visually inspect received parts, materials, in-house products or others to provided. specifications and/or other documentation.
    • Conducting receiving, in-process, and final piece inspections.
    • Using appropriate tools, gauges, and meters as needed to aid in visual inspections.
    • Complete first article inspection reports as necessary.
    • Note discrepant features during inspection process to damage, visual condition, geometric, or other nonconformance(s) as applicable.

    Requirements

    • Must be competent to measure precise features (i.e. 0005") to drawing requirements such as size, form, geometry, surface finish, etc.
    • Have a basic level of computer literacy (Outlook, Microsoft Office, or other basic softwares).
    • Must be familiar with relevant tools and gauges such as calipers, indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.
    • Must be able to complete a first article inspection report per (AS9102).
    • Must be highly detail-oriented.
    • A background check and drug screen are contingent upon hiring.

    Note to Candidates:

    Candidates must have at least 2-5 years of experience to be considered for this position.

    Individuals who possess the following are encouraged to apply:

    • Has previous aerospace experience
    • Experience inspecting processes such as heat treat, anodize, and plating to government or industry specifications and general knowledge of a formal quality system (ISO/AS).
    • General knowledge of and understanding of statistical process techniques and use of a CMM is a plus.

    Salary info:

    $18 - $25 / hr
