    Perioperative Regional Sales Manager - West Region

    To drive continued success in this exciting Medical Device field, we are seeking a Regional Sales Manager, Perioperative, to join our winning team.

    The Perioperative Regional Sales Manager is responsible for building and maintaining a successful and professional sales force in order to ensure annual sales and revenue targets are achieved in each individual territory and the overall region.

    Essential Functions:

    Manage 6-8 Perioperative Sales Specialists and offer guidance to support and improve productivity:

    • Hire and train perioperative sales specialists; be involved in succession planning.
    • Monitor, evaluate and develop sales specialists, including performing field rides and quarterly/annual reviews.
    • Assist in planning/preparation of Regional and Manager meetings.
    • Manage performance to ensure sales specialists are professional and productive.

    Work closely with division personnel to achieve the company's goals by:

    • Interfacing with the training manager to ensure the sales force is properly trained.
    • Consulting with marketing to consult on marketing issues and assist in prioritizing projects.
    • Partnering with service and clinical teams to ensure the region is receiving proper support.
    • Consulting with finance on selective orders requiring aggressive or unique pricing strategies.

    Develop and monitor monthly/quarterly/annual sales plan and expense budget performance to ensure that the sales and revenue objectives are met:

    • Prepare monthly/quarterly forecasts.
    • Maintain a field presence to evaluate sales teams and participate in the closing of large orders.
    • Review and document lost business opportunities.
    • Monitor the P&L and budgets to ensure profitability.

    Work closely with the National Sales Director, Perioperative as it pertains to the following issues:

    • Short-term and long-range strategic planning
    • Annual sales plans and compensation
    • Market trends and competitive issues
    • Sales forecasting, budgets, discounting, and inventory control
    • Personnel issues

    Position Specifications:

    1. Knowledge/Educational Requirements

    • College degree required. Advanced management courses for ongoing education are preferred.
    • Minimum 5-7 years of successful sales experience
    • Experience in performing Sales Training or serving as a lead person for other sales reps.
    • Proven direct sales management experience preferred.
    • Fundamental understanding of general business concepts required to operate a profit center (P&L)
    • Must live within a geographic region.

    2. Skills and Abilities

    • Effective communication and leadership skills, both verbal and written
    • Excellent interpersonal and selling skills (listening, probing, closing)
    • Ability to comprehend technical product lines.
    • Ability to understand and develop strategies against competition.
    • High energy
    • Presentation skills (PowerPoint experience)
    • Effective relationship-building skills.
    • Organizational skills in territory development
    • Ability to work within a team in a strategic process.

    3. Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal home office environment with approximately 50% overnight travel
