    Health Plus Management is looking for a Board-Certified Physiatrist for one of the practice's it helps manage. Health Plus Management LLC (HPM) provides management services to medical practices specializing in the area of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. HPM manages 50+ locations throughout Long Island, NYC including the 5 boroughs, Westchester, Upstate, NJ and Connecticut. We provide management services that give the physician and therapists the opportunity to provide patient care without always worrying about the administrative needs of the practice.     Initial exam for patients that need to undergo physical therapy and diagnostic testing.

    Diagnosing pain as a result of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.

    Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients.

    Recommending various medical procedures to treat pain and improve physical functioning.

    Leading a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists and occupational therapists, in order to optimize patient care.

    Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.

    Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.

    Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.

    Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.

    Conducting research on injuries, diseases, and disabling conditions in order to improve and advance treatments.

    Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine patient's need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.

    Initiate's prescriptions to be followed by the appropriate therapy units, and modifies that prescription as indicated by the patient's response to therapy and his/her medical condition.

    Conducts periodic re-evaluations of each patient to determine progress and indication for change or discontinuance of treatment.

    Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.

    Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients' progress.

    Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e. physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., to facilitate patient care and patient referrals

    Performs other duties as requested.

    Knowledge & Experience

    Experience working in an outpatient Musculo-skeletal practice.

    Knowledge about the different types of physical rehabilitation treatments and programs for different injuries.

    Leading a team of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and monitoring their job performance based on

    patient care.

    Ability to treat patients of all ages.

    Experience with injections and writing prescriptions.

    Working with patients on determining pain management strategies

    Schedule:

    Monday: 9am - 5pm - Tremont, Bronx, NY

    Tuesday: 9am - 5pm - New Rochelle, NY

    Wednesday: 9am - 5pm - Tremont, Bronx, NY

    Thursday: 9am - 5pm - New Rochelle, NY

    Friday: 9am - 5pm - New Rochelle, NY

    Must be willing to work in Tremont and New Rochelle.

    Education and Training

    Bachelor's degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.3 year internship / residency training, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation or neurology.Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or Neurology.Valid and active New York State medical license.
