    JOB DESCRIPTION

    SCOPE OF POSITION

    The Registered Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the performance and technical analysis of diagnostic ultrasound data. The Technologist must exhibit exceptional ultrasound scanning skills and possess knowledge of pathophysiology across different age groups, from fetal to geriatric patients, as required. This individual will act as a knowledge source for colleagues, physicians, fellows, and other team members. Moreover, the Technologist will contribute to training and mentoring staff in non-invasive ultrasound procedures. They will participate in the assessment of various ultrasound equipment and provide recommendations to department leadership. Additionally, the Technologist will actively engage in Process Improvement initiatives and support Ultrasound teaching and outreach activities as necessary. They will conduct examinations promptly and fulfill any other assigned duties.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

    Outlined in the Table of Organization.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Successful completion of an accredited sonography program is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in scanning without supervision is essential.

    CERTIFICATIONS

    Must hold a valid and active credentials:

    • ARDMS: RDMS(AB), (OB/GYN), or (PS) and/or RVT(VT)
    • ARRT: RT(S) or RT(VS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): RVS

    AHA BLS certification is mandatory.
