    THE COMPANY:

    Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients. Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm.     SUMMARY OF ROLE:

    The Director of Enterprise Applications will lead a cross-functional team, reporting to the IT and Security Senior Director. This role will help guide the company's efforts to implement an ERP eco-system, manage the portfolio of enterprise applications, and manage any application projects. Candidates should have experience leading cross-functional teams to integrate and implement enterprise applications. This role will also implement governance and project management processes and structures. Candidates must also have knowledge of medical devices, Quality Management Systems, and processes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implement and manage the Enterprise Resource Platform and integrations.
    • Manage the company's portfolio of enterprise applications.
    • Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to manage all enterprise application software in the company.
    • Set up processes and procedures for managing the Enterprise Applications selections, onboarding, and decommissioning.
    • Responsible for building out the enterprise applications area as the company moves towards commercialization in 2024.
    • Develop compliance controls for all applications in the Enterprise Application portfolio.
    • Establish key performance metrics for enterprise applications.
    • Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and contractors providing professional services implementing, configuring, developing, or supporting the company's enterprise applications.
    • Provide project management and oversight for all projects in the Enterprise Applications portfolio in conjunction with external service providers.
    • Set policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures for all enterprise applications.
    • Plan and lead all enterprise application implementation and upgrade projects.
    • Maintain enterprise applications in accordance with cybersecurity best practices, including patching and upgrade cycles that are managed and transparent.
    • Be the point of contact for change management processes.
    • Act as the subject matter expert for IT for all relevant audits.
    • Ensure that applications are implemented following the company's quality management processes.
    • Manage the department's control matrix for enterprise applications and lead the SOC2 attestation process with a third-party.
    • Implement and manage the company's data lake.
    • Identify opportunities to consolidate the companies' systems and applications where appropriate to save money and simplify operations.
    • Participate in and remediate/mitigate penetration testing of the ERP suite of systems.
    • Maintain any custom code base, APIs, and integrations for applications in the enterprise application portfolio.
    • Document all systems according to the best practices as defined by the Carnegie Melon Software Engineering Institute including logical, physical, and data flow diagrams.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 10+ year's experience administering enterprise applications including Enterprise Resource Planning, financial, and Customer Resource Management applications.
    • 5-10 years of demonstrable experience leading projects with cross-functional business stakeholders to build out a suite of integrated enterprise applications.
    • Experience with connecting Enterprise Applications and patient/provider platforms to the data lake in a secure manner.
    • Develop Service Catalog for Enterprise Applications with defined and achievable SLA's.
    • Demonstrable experience in administration and configuration of SharePoint and other collaboration tools.
    • Managing complex enterprise applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
    • Testing and configuring integration APIs to integrate disparate platforms and their data.
    • Build out and manage a Data Lake for the company.
    • Experience with Quality Management Systems and the FDA's guidance for the management and maintenance of such systems.
    • Experience maintaining GxP and FDA compliance for medical devices.
    • Demonstrated project management experience.
    • Agile Project Management experience a plus.
    • Previous medical device and/or manufacturing experience in the biotechnology field is a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or relevant work experience.

    • The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
    • Pay range: $180,000 - $195,000
