    Job Summary

    This PRN position is responsible for assisting with Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, and General Surgeries as part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team.

    Responsibilities

    1. Prepare the operating room, including setting up surgical trays, ensuring the cleanliness of the environment, and confirming that all required equipment is functioning properly
    2. Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed
    3. Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record
    4. Act as a liaison between the operating room staff and other areas of the hospital while the surgical team performs the procedure
    5. Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment
    6. Provide great post-operative care, assist with transferring the patient to the recovery area, ensure that the patient's condition is stable, and provide any necessary post-operative instructions or support

    Requirements

    • Current and valid state RN License
    • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
    • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

    Salary

    $80,000 - $110,000 per year
