    What We Do

The CERT Cyber Mission Readiness (CMR) directorate strengthens the U.S. and its allies against cyber threats through a variety of activities. We organize exercises of different scales, facilitate tabletop scenarios, run cybersecurity contests, and develop open-source tools to enhance cyber defense capabilities. Working closely with sponsors, CMR identifies and mitigates vulnerabilities posed by advanced cyber adversaries.

The core of CMR lies in a culture of teamwork and commitment. We are dedicated to equipping our nation and partners with the necessary resources to tackle cyber threats. If you are someone who is passionate about technology, values collaboration, and has a thirst for knowledge, then you might be the perfect fit for our team. We emphasize the importance of the right attitude and continuous learning, offering extensive training, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.

Embedded within the CMR directorate is the Operational Readiness and Evaluation (ORE) team. ORE plays a crucial role in enhancing the Cyber Workforce's defensive capabilities. By collaborating with SEI teams and government units, we evaluate operational readiness against established benchmarks and develop strategies to ensure mission success. Through cutting-edge simulation technology, we create virtual training environments and challenging scenarios to stay ahead in cyber readiness.

ORE fosters a culture of progress and unity. We are committed to uplifting the national cybersecurity workforce and welcome individuals who are enthusiastic about technology, teamwork, and ongoing learning. Our approach revolves around comprehensive training, mentorship, and the sharing of skills.
