Position Summary
This individual will support the daily operations of the Tissue Analysis Core (TAC) facility, a component of the COBRE-funded Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB), under the guidance of the TAC Director.
Primary responsibilities include coordinating specimen procurement with Live On Nebraska and Medical Centers, overseeing the quality, cataloging, and processing of biological tissues, and aiding in their embedding, sectioning, and histological staining.
Additionally, the role involves developing and upholding protocols for specimen evaluation and storage, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as managing the operation and maintenance of equipment such as biaxial mechanical testers, flow circuits, and ?CT.
The position also entails preparing histological samples, ordering supplies, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, coordinating schedules with other Cores, and undertaking other tasks as directed by the TAC Director or COBRE PI.
