    NoneType of Travel: None* * *What You'll Get to Do:The System Integration Team for Increment II of the US Army's Integrated Personnel and Pay System (IPPS-A) is looking for an experienced Splunk Engineer.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall architecture, installation, administration, and ongoing development of Splunk log parsing and alert monitoring, with a goal towards enhancement as it relates to application and server data, reporting, custom queries, dashboards, and security administration.

    In addition to log analytics, the Splunk Engineer will administrate a variety of other platforms within the Enterprise Management suite.


    More About the Role:
    Administer, support, and maintain Splunk infrastructure for a highly available and disaster recovery configuration.
    Administer and update the Splunk environments; including indexers, search heads, forwarders, etc., to maintain security compliance and vendor supportability.
    Standardize Splunk agent deployment, configuration, and maintenance across a variety of UNIX and Windows platforms.
    Maintain Splunk servers ensuring systems meet operational requirements; assist in capacity planning and optimization activity
    Troubleshoot Splunk server and agent issues and problems
    Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards to provide visibility into ingested log data
    Develop and maintain alerts that send notifications via email and vocal notify
    Assist and mentor internal users on their use of Splunk and in designing production-quality dashboards
    Perform data mining and analysis, utilizing various queries and reporting methods
    Solve complex Integration challenges and debug complex configuration issues
    Other tasks and activities as assigned or directed by the Cybersecurity Manager.


    You'll Bring These Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related technical field, and 7-9 years of relevant work experience
    Must have current Secret clearance; SSBI preferred
    Must have a current DOD M IAT Level II - Security+ (minimum)

    3+ years' hands-on experience architecting, configuring, deploying, and supporting Support Splunk on Unix and Linux platforms

    2+ years hands-on developing and maintaining alerts, dashboards, and automated data visualization services using Splunk
    Strong understanding of Splunk configuration files and architecture
    Knowledge of advanced search and reporting commands
    Demonstrated ability to create complex dashboards, forms, and visualizations
    Understanding of System Log Files and other structured and non-structured data
    Intermediate level understanding of Solaris, Linux and Windows operating systems

    These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
    Splunk Architect or Splunk Administrator certification preferred
    Knowledge of a scripting language and UNIX command line
    Experience working in DISA and working with the DISA DECC environment
    Strong knowledge of application monitoring and event management
    Knowledge of the Common Information Model (CIM), understand the relationship between the CIM and knowledge objects, ability to create a lookup file, create a lookup definition, field aliases, and calculated fields
    In depth understanding of Splunk license management
